I overheard these boys that work in my university’s “Mac Lab” taking about the word “Eskimo” versus “Inuit”. Evidently, “Eskimo” is quite derogatory because it means “Eater of raw flesh”, i.e. whale blubber! My personal experience with Inuits and what they find offensive is quite lacking, so I’ll have to take this dashing young man’s word for it.
